Creative Loafing Charlotte – Best of QC web feature

Challenge: Each year alternative weeklies produce a Best Of annual and Creative Loafing wanted to develop a solution all Gyrobase publications could use that allows theme customization and content flexibility.

Solution: We developed a four dynamic templates to manage the landing page, category page, readers’ picks, and staff picks. Using sprites for graphics, we were able to train the creative directors on how to update the theme and using a dateline slug, the template will update the layout based on the year selected. Initiating this change made production of the annual easy for creative and digital, cutting development/production time in half.
